My own story began over 25 years ago. I was a corporate newbie in the pharmaceutical industry. I represented the clinical research department in a cross-functional, new product development team. Our company had a status quo business model. Everyone worked in discipline-driven corporate silos. The first “team” meeting was a disaster! Everyone seated around the table was strutting their stuff, like peacocks with their tails spread. Their focus? Showing off how smart they were. No one was listening to what anyone else was saying.
